One of the cool things about being a wedding cinematographer is all of the cool equipment that I get to play with! Being that my wife is a professional photographer, I am able to use a lot of quality stuff that she already owns. That being said, sometimes there is equipment that we both need to use at the same time. Case and point, last weekend she was photographing and I was filming the same wedding, and we both wanted to use the 50mm 1.2, but we only own one.
What was I to do!?
A few weeks ago I watched a webinar on creativeLIVE hosted by Rob and Vanessa. One of the vendors that Rob and Vanessa continued to praise was this rental company, Lens Pro to Go. So, I got on my trusty iPad and surfed on over to lensprotogo.com and was blown away by all of the equipment they have available to rent. They literally have everything that a professional DSLR photographer or cinematographer would want or need.
Another issue was that I needed the lenses in 24 hours. So, instead of ordering online, I decided to give them a call and spoke with a guy by the name of Paul. I told them I needed a Canon 50mm 1.2 and a 70-200mm 2.8 the next day! This was not a problem and he was able to help me out (and even gave me a little discount!). The UPS guy came the next day and handed me what I needed - no problem. WIth your order they even include return shipping. So, after the wedding I put the equipment in the box it was shipped to me in, tape it up, and drop if back off at UPS. SO EASY!
One other cool thing that I found about about Lens Pro to Go, is that every person on staff is a professional photographer or cinematographer. The CEO of the company really wants to help people that need equipment to rent, so he deliberately has people that are at their headquarters know what they are talking about.
If you’re ever in a bind and you need some last minute equipment, or you’d really like a 100mm Macro, but don’t want to spend $1,000 bucks just to ‘try it out’ - Lens Pro to Go is your one stop solution. I highly recommend this company and can’t wait to use them again in the future. Thanks!
